Trip to Georgia

Last week we took a trip to Georgia with my parents and brother to go quail hunting. Well, the guys were going hunting, Mom, B and I were relaxing. But, on the first day we did go out on the old fashioned wagon ride that accompanied the hunters.

I, of course, wore the most appropriate shoes:

Me and my brothers horse, Wilber.

Mom, Dad and B:

My shoes again...I thought it looked funny with the horses and trees and then Bam! my bling shoes:

The next day we went to visit this town that has a 350 year old oak tree. This is my mom under it:

This is a bigger view of the tree. Notice how small the car under it looks?

We had a really fun and relaxing trip! B enjoyed his first hunt!

First Razorback Game!

Today the Razorbacks were playing and it was an early game, so we decided to take a chance and take B to his first official football game.

Doesn't he look enthused?

The three of us:

At half time Daddy bought a Minute Maid strawberry ice and B just couldn't let him eat it without some help:

He got a little restless so I walked him around for awhile. When I got back I handed him to Chris and this is what happened:

Out like a light!

He had an okay time, but I won't be taking him to any night games!

Brayden's first haircut!

It was just time for mullet man to get a new do' don't ya think?

Chris had an appt with our friend Julie to get his hair cut tonight. I asked if she thought she might be able to trim up B's mullet and make him look a little more...presentable...haha.

AFTER!

Thanks Julie for doing such a great job!!! It made such a difference! B was so good too! He didn't cry or anything. I was surprised because he really didn't get his nap today so I expected him to start breaking down or be really grouchy, but he did great! We had another first today, but I'll share that on another post!

Night time runs to Target

We ran to Target tonight because Chris was out of allergy medicine, but I found a few goodies up from at their dollar section.

Like this blanket for Brayden - it's blue with white snowflakes for $2.50.

And these snowman silicone muffin tins (if you can call them tins) for the same price.

I never seem to get out of their (or Wal-Mart) with only what I went in for. It's impossible, I've decided. What about you?

Couch to 5k

First, WOW, you all seem to love short hair! I go in on Tuesday so we'll just have to wait and see what I end up doing, because I'm a chicken and I could flake out on cutting it!

Has anyone heard of the Couch to 5k program? Done it? I'm on SparkPeople, which is a free weight loss/workout site where you can keep track of goals, calculate your bmi, calorie intake and calories burned for the day etc. It has a TON of great information not only on losing weight but on exercising. If you have some sort of injury you can plug that in and it gives you workouts that you can still do while not injuring yourself further.

Anyway, I was reading an article on there about Couch to 5k so I looked it up here. Basically you follow their program 3 times a week for 9 weeks and at the end you should be able to jog/run a 5k (3 miles). I've been thinking about it for awhile because, well, I don't run. Period. Unless chased by someone who has a gun - and even then, if I don't think I could outrun them, I probably wouldn't try. Just sayin.

So today was the day. I thought it would be super simple - walk for 90 seconds, jog for 60 - and repeat for a total of 20 min's. I did a 5 min warmup walk and a 5 min cool down walk so it was a 30 min workout. Anyone can do that right? Well, barely. As in I barely did it. I felt so out of shape!

So if you're in the same boat as me, checkout SP. I'll link to one of their calorie counters below. And remember, it's totally free!

You Vote - Short or Long?

Ok I'm having hair issues.

I should preface this by saying I hate my hair. It'd thin, my natural color is ash (which in my book, isn't even a color!) and it doesn't hold a curl or do anything that I actually want it to do.

A couple of years ago I got fed up and cut it off:

It actually looked somewhat like a style. Kinda.

This is what it looks like now:

Now it's long again.

So should I keep it long or cut it back off? Which looks better to you? I have an appt next Tuesday so I've got to make up my mind!

Easy to Please

Mom, you don't need to buy me any of those fancy toys that you keep looking at for my Christmas and birthday presents...

You see, I'm pretty easy to please. Just give me a (clean!) dog bowl and a wooden spoon...

Or my Grammy and a coaster...

and I'm set.

Monkey Man!

Today was Brayden's very first Halloween!

Here he is! Monkey Man!

I would say that he was pretty happy with his costume. I was worried that it would be itchy or annoying and B hates hats, but he LOVED it. He knew it was a monkey!

Our church had a fall fest at our town square. B fell asleep in the car and was really tired when we got there. I think he's going through a growth spurt because he's been sleeping until 9 or later and taking really long naps (4 hours).

B and Daddy:

B - I mean Monkey, with Grammy and Granddaddy:

Afterwards we stopped at Starbucks and then headed out to the cabin. We took some pictures for our Christmas card but they didn't turn out that well so we might re-do them, or I could always use one of our fall pictures that I posted last week.
I hope everyone had a great Halloween!
